Childhood Memmories...
So, when I was a child, my dad would come home every so often with surprised for me. He would walk in the door around 7:00 p.m. and I'd smell his cologne and have this assurance that daddy was home. I always loved that feeling. It was a feeling of safety and security I guess.

Sometimes he would bring "King Size Snickers" bars home. My mom would always take it and place it in the refrigerator, in the butter keeper and later once dinner was over and the dishes were done, she would take it out and slice it into 1/4" slices. We would all together sit down and indulge in what I thought was a lovely treat.

Another thing my dad would come home with was a Haagen Daz bar (ice cream with almonds and vanilla ice cream) and they always came individually wrapped in a box. I can't remember if Dad and I shared it, (did we dad?) or if I got it all to myself.

Anyway, Dan is out of town and I was just thinkig about Daddy's and their little girls and about the memmories that I have of my dad as a child. I hope that my children will feel that same love, care and security that I always felt when daddy came home...even if it wasn't with a Snickers or Haagen Daz bar.
Love you Daddy!

Doctor visit #2...12 weeks
We're not sure what we're having yet, obviously, but it is fun to dream about it. So many people say that if the heart rate is higher, you are having a girl...but then there are boys who are born with higher heart rates as well. So I know it's all just a guessing game. We'd really like to have a boy, if we had a choice. There are already 2 granddaughters in the family, with Tanya's 3rd on the way...arriving in November, so we'd love to have the first boy...and there's just something about little boys and their mommy's. We will be happy with whatever the Lord blesses us with, really all we want is a physically perfect and healthy baby.
I am still feeling great, just some fatigue and hormonal tailbone pain...which is NOT pleasant. Sleeping is beginning to become a challenge...I think I may have to invest in a body pillow. The chiropractor is great at helping me cope with the pain, but I'm having to learn and realizing that all is worth enduring, in order to allow this precious baby to grow. Ahh....the symptoms of pregnancy. I really can't complain...I've had a great first trimester.
Thanks for all your continued prayers for our "Lil munchkin" he or she seems to be doing well.

Austin Visit
I created these little gifts, that had peanut M&M's inside. On the tag on the outside it read, "Our Little Roasting peanut". Inside was the poem that we gave to our parents, but this time, written out to each one personally. I failed to take a picture, but my sister in-law Tanya did (Thanks Tanys!), so here is what is looked like. And, by the way, they are so excited for us. I am excited that our child will have a cousin that is around the same age. Woohoo!

Too cute...how big?

Baby G's on the way....
I am reminded of Hannah in the book of 1 Samuel as she prayed and yearned for a child, and the Lord answered her prayer and blessed her with Samuel, which means "because I called upon the Lord"...how awesome is that. We are so excited to be on this journey and to share it with you.
We have known I was pregnant since 4 weeks. I didn't think I could be that good at keeping this a secret, but I did it! We told Daniel's parents at 7 weeks and my parents at 8 weeks pregnant. Of course I had to be creative...so I gave each set of parents a card with a sonogram picture on the front and when you opened the card, here is what is said.
Grandpa/Opa and Grandma/Oma,
I do not have a face to see,
or put inside a frame.
I do not have soft cheeks to kiss;
I don't yet have a name.
You can't hold my tiny hands,
nor whisper in my ear.
It's still too soon to sing a song,
or cuddle me so near.
But all will change come April 30th,
when they say I'm due.
I'm your new granddaughter or grandson;
And I can't wait to meet you.
All I ask between now and then
is your patience while I grow.
I promise I'll be worth the wait,
because of all the love we'll know.
So as you're waiting patiently,
please pray lots of prayers
for mommy and me.
I cannot wait to be a part
of this wonderful family!
Love,
Baby G #1
We were so excited to share this with them. They were all shocked and so excited because they know the difficulty we've had in getting pregnant. So, again, the Lord is wonderful, and I stand in awe of His name and His presence.
So, how am I feeling? I have had a very uneventful pregnancy thus far. I've had some fatigue and am trying to get used to this eating often since my stomach will growl if I don't. I've also had some headaches, but other than that, I am doing really well. I am still working and feeling pretty good.
Below are some pictures I've taken. Some are belly pictures from 5, 7, and 10 weeks and then some baby pictures from 5, 7 and 10 weeks.
