Merry Christmas To All 2017

Christmas Day

This morning the kids woke up slowly, which was super nice. We all came out at various times. The kids checked out the stocking and gifts. Hannah had already counted and scoped out every present from Santa, though she had enough self-control not to unwrap anything before we came out and were ready.
Once everyone was awake, we all sat down together at the kitchen table. Hannah and Daniel shared the reading of Luke 2

Christmas Time Memories

Soon after we picked up our tree...like the day after, it began dropping needles. I took it outside myself, made a new cut and found that the stump was very dry. There is no telling how long it has been without water :\ It's been dropping needles every since. It made it to Christmas, which is all we needed. I miss fresh cut trees for sure. Throughout the month we had to sweep or vacuum up the needles, it has been quite a pain. But, everyone has enjoyed taking a turn to help clean them up.

Christmas Eve

Yesterday was Christmas Eve, we had church in the morning and evening.
I sang and worked (I am the Administrative Assistant for our church) at 10am and 5pm. Dan and the kids came with his parents and some of his siblings to the evening service.
It was a beautiful candlit service.

A family picture is always challenging for us, I think this was the best one.

Snow In Houston!

The last time it snowed in Houston, I was pregnant with Hannah!
It's been over 7 years since it has snowed. It's hard to imagine, but probably the next time it snows, all my children will be in their double digit ages!

Last week on Thursday night, we saw the predicted forecast. Never did I think I would see the writing from the weather channel, "Heavy Snowfall in Houston Tonight". Hannah really wanted to stay up, but we were not too certain that it "really" would snow. So about 10:30pm, it began. We woke Hannah up, got her all bundled up and she went outside--mostly sleep walking. She was uninterested, she touched my van and then went back inside as if she were sleep walking.

Then, in the morning I woke up at 5am. The snow STUCK...and it was absolutely stunning to see.
We woke the kids up, got them bundled and went outside. Jensen was not a fan and cried a lot. Kathryn was coughing SO much from her bronchitis, and Hannah was super excited by this time.
We had a small family event outside at 5am. It was perfectly memorable.

Have a look...
