Adoption Mailing DAY!!

Oh, where to start.....
Our adoption paperwork is COMPLETED!
We have worked effortlessly to get all our adoption paperwork and requirements done.

Maddies 3rd Birthday

On Saturday, we went to celebrate one of Maddies friends, for her birthday.
She has a Mickey Mouse Club House party.
There were fun hats, hot dogs, cookies, cake and MORE!
Hannah had a blast with her best buddies.
Happy Birthday Maddie, we love you sweet girl!
How fitting that the front blow up sled of Mickey and Minnie was out on a frosty weekend!

Grown Up Hannah

Hannah is very independent. She likes to follow routine, and do things exactly how they should be.
She is type A as am I.
She talks about her babies as if they are real, she gives them naps, even puts the noise machine on because that's what you do when you sleep.
She gives snacks to her babies and as you can see here, you even take your babies to the potty!
The left picture was taken just after her baby's foot landed in the toilet!!!
I assured her baby would be ok :-)

Happy Birthday Abby!

My best friend Abby's birthday was on January 7th.
We took an evening and went out to dinner, my treat of course.
We sat around for a few hours in town center and it was just wonderful.
It was cool outside and there was a nice breeze.
Coffee helped to warm the evening, too!
Wow, where has that Eggnog Latte been all my life ;-)
We had a great night and I know she had a wonderful birthday!

Dime Box with the Edwards

A couple weekends ago, we headed to Dime Box with the Edwards.
They are our best friends and we had such a fabulous time with them there!

Deep Thoughts

I just have to post because my heart is just aching for two specific families right now.
Two Harding University students have been killed.
One was running innocently on a well known path in a well known park in San Antonio.
The other, was killed in an auto accident when she failed to stop on I-30 and ran into a tractor trailer from behind.
I know so many people who have dealt with loss, grief and sadness.
We do not know why these events occurred, but one thing we do know,
is that in spite of them, God is still in control.
It is sad to think that He walked before both of these girls,
knowing what would happen...but yet he allowed them to happen.

Debt Free

Right before Hannah and I left for California in August,
our family celebrated something wonderful.
We are debt free!!!! Aside from our house.
We had finished paying off the last of our Sallie Mae student loans,
Sold Daniel's White Mercedes Benz,
Paid off my car,
purchased a new-to-us car for Daniel in cash
AND
We began our adoption process!
To celebrate our achievements and new beginnings,

New Years 2014!

This year we decided to spend New Years in Dime Box with a few family friends.
We had a great time of fellowship, food, fun and fireworks!
We had a Cheese Fondue New Years Eve meal with wine and it was delicious.
On New Years Day, Shea made Gumbo, which was also amazing.
The kids had a blast and we enjoyed just relaxing for a few days in the country.
It is just so peaceful there!
It was brisk and cool and perfect weather for winter.
Wayne and Rebecca and their three kids came, Shea and Anthony and their two and Dan and I with Hannah were there. It was great!
