Dan and I poured out our minds over names.
We could not seem to come to terms with a name we both would like.
Honestly, Daniel liked John Quincy...and I liked Emmett.
It has been talked about before, that a possibility could always be William, like Daniel, his father and his grandfather. I was never a fan of William and I much preferred not to continue the name. When we had Jensen, we discussed this name, but it was not kept on the forefront for long.
Now that we are having a biological boy, and Dan's grandfather has passed, we reconsidered William. I am very excited on the name we have chosen.
Our son's name is William Wesley Grasham II, named after "Grandpa". When we first started throwing the name Wesley around, we both thought of "The Princess Bride"...the character Westley says, "There’s a shortage of perfect breasts in this world. It would be a pity to damage yours."
Honestly, that's what I think of now, when I think of Wesley.
More importantly, Dan's Grandpa, Bill Grasham as he was called, was a man of integrity, faith, leadership, and legacy. I miss Grandpa. I like to say he was like Jesus, walking on earth. His heart for others was so evident in the way he treated people, taught, and preached. I am honored that I had the privilege to know Grandpa for several years before he passed.
Dan and I are very proud to pass on his name to our first biological son, to carry on the Grasham heritage. I am using the name William often to get comfortable with it because it's still not the name I cling to easily. By the time William arrives, I know it will stick and I will have no problem.
So excited for our baby boy!
