And Then There Were ALMOST 5

So much has taken place since I wrote my last post on our adoption.
Some adoption stuff has happened and some is just life.
First of all, you might be confused by my post title..."almost 5"?
Yes, Daniel, Sarina, Hannah and hopeful adopted baby brother
Well, that is 4 you say...well, yes...that's because on Saturday we found out that...

Chick Fil-A Fundraiser Turnout

Thank you to everyone who came out to Chick Fil-A on Friday, March 26th to show support for our adoption. We were blessed by so many who came to eat and fellowship. Thank you for inviting your family and friends to join in, every person counted! We had approximately 300+ people come through.
We raised $400 (20%) of the sales brought in through our receipt box.
Big Thank You to Chick Fil-A for organizing this fundraiser and sharing profits!
This brought us to $27,000 of our needed $40,000.

Daniel's Promotion

I just have to brag on my husband for a bit because he is just incredible.
I never truly realized how amazing he was until I saw other people pointing things out and I began thinking, huh, that is awesome. Part of it is that, as we've been going through this adoption process, we have learned so much about each other and about each other from friends. Asking your friends to "describe" you has been really rewarding. Yes, there are positives and negatives, but there are also surprises that I just never put together.

For example, I never thought of Daniel as Resourceful, but he truly is!!
He is an amazing husband and father.
He loves Hannah and I so dearly and he strives to do all he can to make our lives healthy and happy!
He is a hard worker, diligent, creative, and loves challenge.
When he received his promotion to a "management" position at work, he was utterly surprised.
he had no idea that was coming--but God did!
God knew that this would allow him to earn more for our adoption expenses AND that he would have LESS travel! I am more excited about the "less travel" part than anything else. To think that I won't have to worry about Daniel randomly saying, "well, i'm leaving tomorrow for..." will be awesome!
Daniel, you are so dearly loved and I appreciate the way you always take care of Hannah and I.
I value the dedication and quality time you spend with us being an intentional father and husband.
I love you so dearly and am excited to see where the Lord will lead you in this new career path!

I wanted to share with you some highlights from our celebratory dinner at Saltgrass Steakhouse with our friends and family.
Before we headed out, Hannah said,
" Mama, I want to wear my princess dress to dinner because I want to look pretty for my Papa".
I usually would say no, but I just could NOT resist this cute and innocent daughter of mine wanting to capture her fathers heart. Ugh, make my heart melt!

Baby Room Progress

As for our baby boy's room, we have chosen our theme.
Yes, it still is an empty room, yet to be filled with any furniture, but we are okay with that.
In time, it will be filled. The baby is not in need of anything as of yet...;-)
(Yes, my organized  and prepared self is having to not think about how I don't have anything to put clothes in, or have clothes for that matter...but, as I said, our baby is not here yet!)

Anticipation of what God will do!!

We are so ready and so excited for Chick Fil-A Spirit Night TONIGHT.
We hope to have over 300 people there.
Come out and show your support, while witnessing how Big and Great our God is!!

Rodeo Day!

Hannah had Rodeo Day at school in February. She wore her jeans, borrow boots,
bandanna and even brought her horse to school.
After she was dressed she went up stairs to get her horse.
This is how she came down...precious...

Spring Break 2014

For Spring Break this year, we spent several days in Dime Box.
It was so refreshing to be there and to just have the time to relax.
This was especially so, after we endured the frustration of not having a home study without notice.
Once we got there, we were in a whole nother world.
The Edwards came up to stay with us for a couple days and we all relaxed, talked a lot and let the kids play. We even cleaned up the yard so that I was able to mow since some of the grass or weeds were tall in some areas. We all had fun with that and Abby and I used an Ax to chop the tree limbs!
We had a blast!

Adoption Chronicling

Wow, where to begin. God is Awesome, is an understatement.
I must start writing down all the events that have taken place in the last few months.
Most recently and most importantly this last week has given us quite a turn of events.
To begin, I must preface with, "To God Be All the Glory!"
If you are new to our journey, let's begin with last summer.
To see how it all began back in July, click here.

Adoption News

Please pray for us as new doors have quickly been opened for our adoption.
Today, we received a call from a different agency than the one we are working with, and they were looking for an adoptive family for a specific birth mother. To make a long story short, we may be blessed with a sweet, healthy, baby boy at the end of April.

SHOW ADOPTION SUPPORT: Chick Fil-A Fundraiser

We are proud to announce that Chick Fil-A will be hosting a "Spirit Night @ Greatwood" on behalf of "Grasham Adoption", for our family as we raise funds. We are so excited about adding a new baby to our family very soon and look forward to what the Lord will do with the future of our family as we wait!

Please see our "postcard" below for details.
If you attend First Colony Church, you may be receiving a post card in your bible class or via e-mail in the next few weeks.

Plan to show your support and join us.
 Invite your family and friends.

Don't forget to place your receipt in the box near the register if dining in.
If heading through the drive through, please ask for your meal purchase to go towards the "Grasham Adoption Spirit Night"!

We hope to see you there on Friday, March 21st from 5-8 p.m.

What Hannah's been up to...

Hannah is really a great helper. She always wants to be a part of whatever I am doing.
Does this last long? Or will she at some point decide that "cleaning" is not fun anymore.
Of course, I hope she keeps up this motivation!
As I was cleaning the bathroom and shower, she decided that the tub needed cleaning too!

I'm back...

Well, when you lose your camera it is a little hard to post pictures of life.
I've been using my "Big" Camera lately because I misplaced my little blue camera.
Anyway, I've been looking for days and praying.
Let em say one thing I've learned. Rather than be upset, you just have to keep looking.
Through prayer and patience, God jogged my memory and I found my camera. Where was it you may ask? Well, of course, right where it should be...in the pantry closet inside of an insulated lunch bag pocket. Haha. I laughed when I thought of it and when I found it, I gave a big Hallelujah to the Lord!
It's the simple things that help me to reaffirm that God is on my side. He gives patience...and I have to add that if I had lost my camera pre-prozac, I'm not so sure I would have been patient for over a week!! Whew, have no fear, the lost camera has been found and now I can blog about wonderful things, like the most beautiful cake my mother in-law made for my husband and father in-law for their birthdays, and...well, just keep reading future posts that will most likely be published "before" this post, since all things MUST be chronological :-)
