Kathryn is 2 Months

I apologize Kathryn, life has been so crazy that I did not get this update completed until now and you are about to be 3 months!! So much has happened and it's been amazing watching you grow and capturing all your growth in life and pictures. You are so adorable and have the sweetest smile!

 

Kathryn's 2 Month Stats:

Weight: 11.3 lbs and 50th percentile

Height: 22 1/2 inches and 50th percentile

Head: 15 1/2 and 75th percentile

Hannah's 2 Month Stats for Comparison:

Weight: 11.6 lbs and 55th percentile

Height: 23 1/2 inches and 90th percentile

Head: 15 1/4 and 50th percentile

You are much littler than you sister was at this age. My milk seems to be more "skim" than "whole", Dr. Molina said that you need to start gaining weight better because you dropped on the chart for this month. I left our 2 month wellness appointment a bit discouraged, but I know we will get this under control. Everything else looked great, and you are super healthy! You had 2 vaccine at this appointment--DTaP and Rotateq.

-You really started smiling this month. Such a joy to see! 

-You can roll from your belly to your back sometimes, but definitely are strong enough to roll from back to belly when in your car seat or swing if not buckled right away. You have a VERY strong neck and you manage to turn your entire self face down. You actually turned yourself over in your swing one time and when we saw you, your feet were dangling off a little.

You enjoy being a part of everything and watching what we do. 

You love to be in the front pack, you feel safe and secure.

-You now wear size 1 diapers and 0-3 month clothes

-You sleep from about 7:30 or 8 pm., waking to nurse around 11 p.m. at night then sleeping til 7:00 a.m., waking once or twice around 1:30 and 5 to nurse. We are trying to get on somewhat of a schedule for nap time during the day. When you sleep, you always wear a sleep sack, this keeps you nice an warm. You also love to be swaddled in your blanket and you sleep well in mamas arms.

  

-You cry relentlessly because we've come to realize mommy's milk is just not enough--I'm taking steps to make it better. Will report more on that in the 3 month update. You want to nurse ALL the time and it's frustrating because you tend to get hungry just 45 minutes after I nurse. We've introduced you to formula for supplementing and you like it just fine. Your mouth is so small that we have to be careful with the bottle because you tend to gag on the nipple. You also still spit up a lot.

 You were able to attend your first baby shower for your Tante Jessica, 

she is having your cousin baby girl in June!

-You want to be held constantly, you love touch. You prefer to see over the shoulder, rather than be held as in a cradle hold position.

Here, Tante Raya was talking with you and you were beginning to mimick sounds.

-You are very alert and love to watch the birds on your swing, though we don't actually swing you because you spit up almost every time its moving.

-You are not a fan of tummy time at all. You can keep your head up, but not hold your chest up with your arms yet.

-You love to watch the bear that lights up and plays music above you as you lay on your playmat. You smile often and enjoy seeing the various toys that hang down.

-We tried the bumbo this month, you were a little wobbly, but as soon as you have some great head support, you will love to watch mommy in the kitchen, as did your big sister.
-You generally love bath time and you have got some crazy wet and curly hair after bath time, its so sweet!

 

-Your brother and sister ADORE you. Jensen is fascinated by you and loves to pull himself up to wherever you are and watch you. He pulled himself up to see you in the swing and actually bit your toe. I know he is sorry, he is teething and didn't know any better ;-) Hannah enjoys holding you and helping with your pacifier.

Hannah is very tenderhearted towards you and always wants you to be happy.

Aunt Karen's Visit

My mom'd sister Karen came to visit. 

It was sweet to see her here. She loved on my kids and we all had a wonderful visit. 

We even ventured out to Blue Bell one morning for a field trip and the kids behaved really well too.

Mama/Daughter Date

Today, I took Hannah on a date. 

I surprised her by going to an indoor trampoline park. It was so much fun and she had a blast.

Afterwards, we headed to Chick Fil-A for lunch. 

It was a memorable day!

Happy New Year 2015!

This year, we headed to Dime Box again for our annual trip with the Paces and Amaro's. 

We had tasty Fondu fon New Years Eve, and had many other amazing meals. We (others) played countless games of Pandemic and Rimmikub, the kids had a blast riding the jeeps and tractor rides and of course, the fireworks. The guys decided to "experiment" with blowing up mandarin oranges, making rockets for fireworks to shoot out of and more. It was a "manly bonding" time for sure :-)

This was a VERy touch trip for us having a 6 week old, and an 8 months old. Kathryn was screaming constantly and wanted to be held (realized later that she needed supplementing) and Jensen was getting into things big time, even though he wasn't a crawler yet. Let's just say that he was motivated to get around! 

This year, we had a very fun and exhausting trip. All in all, we had a fabulous time and once again made many happy memories for the years to come.

Apa's Birthday

For my dad's birthday this year, Hannah decided she wanted to get him "flowers", a "balloon" and a "bag". So, that's exactly what we did. We showed up at his work and surprised him with all of those things. Hannah picked them all out. It was precious. She even made his card and it was just perfect. She told me what to write. I asked her to tell me all the things she loves about Apa and here is what she said...
