Little Girl, Grown Up

I thought Hannah looked so grown up in these pictures. She had fun sitting in Papa's old car over the weekend. She is so little but seems so grown up these days. She even has her cell phone!

Mama, I'm home!

Hannah loves her new door. We bought a Little Tykes door for her from our church marketplace...like craigslist I guess you could say. It was a great deal and Hannah loves it. She loves to open and close the door, walk through, ring the doorbell and just spent so much time crawling through and walking through.

Hannah's First Movie in the Theater

This past Wednesday Hannah and I went to a playdate. Every week, there is a different playdate and each person in our playgroup has the opportunity to plan a fun thing to do on a Wednesday. So this week my good friend Kathryn and James planned a $1 Veggie Tales movie at the local Cinemark theater. So, Hannah and I went along. I did not think she would last very long, but was amazed that she lasted 30 minutes.

During the movie we sat next to Kathryn and James. Hannah and James kept holding hands over the cup holder. It was the sweetest thing, but I am not sure how I feel about this. Then, last night they were over for Bible Study and Hannah hugged for the first time...hugged James. I had never before seen her go up to someone to intentionally give them a hug. My little girl is already making moves and visa versa. gulp! Anyway, I know it's nothing now, but it makes me think of her future already. Goodness, I need to be in deep prayer more for her relationships as she grows up.

After neither James nor Hannah could handle sitting still in the theater, we went out and let the kids play around in the lobby area. It was pouring down rain outside so we were passing time until it let up. They had so much fun running around and getting their energy out.

Hannah was having a blast running around...she is laughing and I LOVE this face!

Fun Friday

Today, Daniel stayed home from work so we could get some things done. It's been a nice day so far :-) Here are some pictures of our sweet girl from my camera. I finally had a chance to put them on the computer. She just loves life and we love her!

Hannah loves for Papa to pull her around in her wagon from Great Aunt Cindy
 She was laughing hysterically...
She looks so much like me in this picture...don't you think?

Fun with friends...Monday Home made Pizza night!

Fourteen Months

Hannah is a toddler now, she is growing up so fast. She is a beautiful girl. She is so much fun to be around. She loves to laugh. She loves to watch the older kids and they make her laugh. I just LOVE to hear my sweet girl chuckle and have so much fun.

She loves to carry purses around on her shoulder and open my wallet to pull everything out. She is very interested in how things work, so she will try to pull everything apart and then try to get it back together.

She loves to crawl up on the couch or stairs and take big steps up or down outside when holding mommy's hand.

She understands German and English very well as she is learning both. We can ask her several things and she communicates with us. She understand in English and German, "Where is your milk/cup/juice?", "Where is your baby?", Where is mama or papa?" and she will point and walk to it and pick it up.

She also knows her bed time routine. After she has gotten her jammies on, we say, "okay it's time to brush your teeth" and she immediately get's excited and walks to the bathroom to the drawer where her toothbrush and toothpaste is kept. She LOVES to brush her own teeth, after we've brushed them good.

She still loves to be outside and anytime she hears the door open, she is off to try to make it out there before we close it. She loves to swing, play in the water, sandbox, push her toys around outside or just spend time outside with us while we do yard work.

She loves to take all the books off her shelf, as if it is a game, of course mommy picks them up. She is not really into reading as much as she is into playing with toys, or talking to herself as she is playing with her tea pot or pots and pans. She does enjoy two books in particular, "Who?" and "Where?" They are pop up books that she has learned to put her finger in to make the animal pop up. For example, one page might say, "Who lives in the hole?" and then when she pops it up, it will say with a picture, "Gophers live in the hole." Anyway, she loves exciting books. And then as always, she still love to chew on books.

As I posted a few days ago, she eats just about everything, fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy, breads...the only things she won't eat right now are berries, squash/zucchini and cherry tomatoes (she eats cut up tomatoes). She is learning to eat with a bowl/plate and spoon/fork. This is challenging because most of the time when she picks food up on the utensil, it goes down on her bib or clothes. We're working on that one. Her favorite drink is milk. She will only drink out of her sippy cups and no others. I've tried to introduce the straw cup and Nalgene cup...neither of which she would take. So, we have what she likes and works and it makes for happy momma and baby.

She LOVES to be around her Oma. Evey time we are around her, Hannah just talks and talks to her and it's the cutest thing...and Oma talks back to her. Hannah loves her so much.

Hannah is still wearing size 4 diapers, 12-18 month clothes and size 3-4 shoes.

She has 11 teeth, 4 on the top, 4 on the bottom, 2 molars on the bottom and 1 molar on the top.

She loves to open and close doors, cupboards, drawers, etc. She closes herself in rooms behind the doors and pulls out pots and pan from behind cupboards and pulls clothes and other things out of drawers. We went to IKEA to buy some frames and we stopped by the kids section...Hannah loved to play with the kitchen they had there...she must have opened and closed the little kitchen cupboards at least 20 times...while she placed items on the shelf and took items off and then closed the door again.

There is so much to write about as Hannah is growing up so quickly and intrigued by so many things. She loves life and still greets us each morning with a big smile and is happy. We are so blessed to have Hannah in our lives and are so excited for each new chapter that unfolds as she grows up. Sometimes I just watch her sleep in her crib and see how big she is...I think back to when she was just a newborn all swaddled in her crib...my how she has grown and is now so long. I am cherishing each moment with Hannah as she grows We love you Hannah!

Cucumbers and Tomatoes

Hannah loves to eat, if you don't know that already. She loves to eat almost everything.

Her favorite vegetables are...peas, zucchini, edamame, broccoli, squash, potatoes and tomato and cucumber salad with vinegar. Her pediatrician says she is doing really well if she will eat tomatoes, as most kids her age would not eat them.

Her favorite fruits are bananas, peaches, nectarines, cantaloup and mango.

She likes ribs, pork, chicken, fish, beef, grilled ham and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, mac and cheese, waffles, eggs, french toast, pancakes, cheerios...and a lot more.

I just thought I'd give an update so that Hannah will know how great of an eater she was as a 1 year old. Love you Hannah and so glad that feeding you is not a huge struggle. We are blessed!

Hannah's Treat

Hannah has only had ice cream a handful of times. She LOVES it. Last night we decided to have a treat. We went so sonic for a vanilla cone. Hannah loved the ice cream, but really enjoyed the cone too. It was really hot outside, so it was a refreshing treat after dinner.  Thanks Papa!

Monday Catch-up

Here we are. Hannah has been having a lot of fun lately, so this is jut a random post of several exciting things from this past week that Hannah has enjoyed.

We've been taking care of Uncle Jason's fish, Hydro. Hannah has loved watching him every morning while eating breakfast.

Playing in the pool with her friend Ashley.

Chocolate Milk treat after an afternoon nap...she LOVES to drink out of the straw.

Happy Monday!
