Happy Halloween from our Hannah bug and family!

Hannah was our "Lady Bug" this year. We went to our church "Family Fest" and had a great time with our friends. After that, we went to Opa and Oma's neighborhood for some serious trick-or-treating. We greeted each person at the door and Hannah did her trick, her balancing act :-) Everyone got a kick out of her act and her costume. Yay for a great find! Although, everyone thought she was a boy...maybe next year they'll think different. She was tired after it all, but was excited to see all the shiny packages and the noises they make. We had a great evening as a family and Hannah was happy through it all!

Date

Daniel and I had our first official paid Babysitter for Hannah last Saturday night. Some friends of ours were getting married and we got a babysitter and went. I can't believe how much you have to pay these days, it's crazy!! I find so many of my friends lucky since most of them have never had to pay for a sitter because they have a lot family that can watch at any time. Anyway, we enjoyed the time out together. We did leave the wedding early and went to Starbucks to spend some time together talking. I had a hard time NOT focusing on Hannah. I missed her so much. I guess maybe that changes by the second or third child? All in all, it was a great evening spent with my husband and Hannah was fine with the babysitter.

Yes or No? to Solid Food

Hannah has not been a fan of much table food at all. She liked rice cereal, but as soon as I switched her to Whole Grain Organic cereal, she did not like it. We've tried peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, and now avocado. I don't want to start with the sweets, so we'll continue to try out other foods. I am home making all her food. Maybe the home cooked food tastes better...it does to me! I must admit, the peas, carrots and sweet potatoes were from the jar and tasted gross even to us. So, today we will try a home baked Yam that I made this morning. We'll see how that goes :-)

Mommy's attempt at a Photo Shoot...

Hannah is growing so fast and continues to become more beautiful each day. The Lord has truly blessed us with a special gift from heaven. We love you Hannah Grace!

6 Month Stats

Hannah had her 6 month wellness visit on Tuesday. She is doing very well. She is healthy. She has 3 vaccines this month. She has the Rotavirus (oral) and 2 shots, IPV(polio) and Hib. She did great. It's always sad to see her get shots, but she does very well with them and has never had any kind of serious reaction. She is always in good spirits after and is ALWAYS happy despite any circumstance.

Length: 26 1/2 inches and 75th percentile
Weight: 15 lbs and 25th percentile

6 Months Old

Hannah is 6 months old today. Wow, she is growing so much, so fast and is learning and doing NEW things all the time. She is at such a fun age now. She can interact with us so much and we can see her sweet personality. She is such a precious gift from the Lord! We love you Hannah Grace!

New things:
-Hannah chews on everything but her most favorite thing to chew on is my cell phone cover. I will be getting a toy that is silicone that she can chew on and that is MADE for baby's to chew on. She is not too fond of the teething rings, maybe because they are harder?
-Teething as of last night, 2 front bottom teeth coming in and they are like razor blades!!
(please be praying for Hannah as she is in pain and having trouble sleeping)
-She loves looking in the mirror and touching it...and eating it too :-)
-She can sit up on her own with little help.
-She can stand up on her own with some help, since she is still working on balancing.
-She is crawling on her belly and will move in a circle.
-She will only flip over and roll and change to opposite ends of her crib--only IN her crib :-)
-She babbles often and sometimes it's the same repetitive tone.
-She is STILL wearing 0-3 month outfits(tops and bottoms) but is in 3-6 month sleepers and onsies.
-She is still eating approximately every 2 hours and is not eating any solid foods for now.
-She loves to sing at bed time and has started getting really excited and laughing when we sing the fun fast paced songs.
-She can no longer sit in church quietly...we're usually walking in the back or giving her a bottle, with pumped milk of course.
-She likes tummy time now and will play with her toys for several minutes at a time before becoming bored.
-She's getting more red in her hair...I think her hair will turn Strawberry Blonde.
-She loves her bath time...splashing A LOT!

Two teeth coming right up!
Big girl sitting up.
Wearing slippers made by Tante Jessica and a bow made by our good friend Kira.Redish hair getting longer...BOO.....Happy early Halloween! :-)First thing in the morning...always smiley!

New Addition

After leaving Dime Box, we ventured down to San Antonio. Daniel was picking up our newest addition to our family, a 1995 Mercedes Benz E300 Diesel. It had 22,000 miles on it and was kept in immaculate condition. We picked it up downtown and our hotel was right on the River Walk, so we walked along the River Walk as well. Then of course was our 3 hours drive home....umm...but with a 6 month old?....that turned into 5 hours. We even stopped for dinner in the park and then continued on home. We made it home, yeah!
And, our stop to the park for some fresh air.

Roofing "The Hovel" in Dime Box

This past weekend, we had great time in Dime Box! Daniel along with two of our brother in-laws Wilson and Grant and his dad Bill, worked hard to put a new roof on the small house in Dime Box. I tried to capture pictures at different stages, I didn't catch them all, but I made an attempt ;-) The finished result was unable to be captured because it was pitch black when they finished. They worked for 23 hours to get this roof done and hopefully, it was all done well with no future problems.

Jessica came along with Grant and she was sweet enough to cook on Friday night and Saturday and our brother in-law Wilson brought our niece Ally with him. She had a lot of fun watching, petting and even feeding apples to the horses. Hannah was enjoying being outside a lot either near the horses, observing Daddy as he was working, playing on a blanket with Ally or just chillin in the "Big" house.

Jessica making her Brochten rolls. They were VERY yummy!
And, the horses came in through the gate that was open and were walking up to the front and back doors, that kind of freaked me out. And this one, Texas is pregnant. She pushed her head to open the back door and luckily, Jessica caught that one and closed the door.Jazzie, also pregnant.
