Friends and Family.
We began this school year with such anticipation and excitement, we felt called by God to homeschool Hannah. Our goals were for her to grow in obedience and self discipline. To come to a better understanding of who God is, to commit scripture to memory, pray more, have devotional time, sing and dance before the Lord, to build on her relationship with Jensen and Kathryn and so many more things.
I can honestly say that we've done most of those things. I love watching Hannah and her passion for God unfold, her love for teaching her siblings about Jesus, who He was, teaching them how to pray, how to sing songs and so much more.
We've certainly had our struggles and moments of joy.
Those struggles have been very real and almost every day. It's been very difficult for all of us.
Hannah was excited for our co op and school in the beginning, but then over time play was more fun and the idea of school hit the back burner.
She has endured school work, been frustrated, angry, and at times been very happy, felt accomplished and excited.
I know for me that I've never been to close to the ground in prayer before the Lord-asking for wisdom, discernment, direction, peace, etc. my anxiety has been through the roof and yes, I've lost my cool many days, yelling at my kids and just wishing the day away out of frustration and feeling like my head was spinning-just so that in oils get to bed time and have peace and quiet.
Thank you for praying. We've decided to send Hannah to public school.
Thank you Rebecca for spending two hours with me talking tonight about this decision that I've just been so torn up about.
Dan and I feel this is best and I haven't quite formulated a "why we chose this route" answer, but we believe it will be best for Hannah and for me--(I'm thinking my mental health)
Love you all and so thankful for your friendship and support.
Pray that I can keep my head high and trust God in the decision we've made. My heart wants to homeschool, and my mind and gut and husband say otherwise. It's easy to see things when we take the emotion out--something I definitely struggle with.
