20 Months

Hannah is 20 months.
She is almost two, that sounds crazy.
The past two years have gone so fast.
She is growing so much and is such a blessing.

She is learning new things daily. She can speak many more words now and it's getting easier to understand what she wants. I'll be excited when we can converse and I'll know exactly what she wants. She has started whining a lot which drives us both crazy but we are trying to nip that in the butt quickly before she gets too far with it. She doesn't know how to put two words together and its a little slower learning in general because I am trying to speak only German words...I don't know many so that trips me up. We are really trying to only speak German to her. We've ordered some more bilingual books for me to learn more words. She said ketchup yesterday after being asked to say it only one time. We were pretty impressed. She is picking words and mannerism's up very quick. She points to many things and is a sponge for learning.

Making a Christmas gift for Grandma and Grandpa

Proud of her big girl bed...this only lasted about a week and the rail was put back up.
We'll try again later!--She was so excited about it though.
She loves to carry her baby around, put mega blocks together, look at books, play on her kitchen, serve tea, run around and just be where mommy is whether that is doing laundry--pulling clothes out of washer and into dryer, baking or cooking dinner. She loves to help.  She loves to carry big things around, especially her chairs.

She also can identify her eyes, nose, mouth, ears, hair, fingers, hands, feet, belly button and chin. She loves to play the, "Where is?" game and she will have fun finding everything asked to find.

She loves any kind of music and will begin clapping and bending at the knees in a nodding motion to dance. She chooses the songs for our family devotional at night and her favorites are still, "Big Round Sun" and "This Little Light of Mine".

She loves to give hugs and kisses.
She even sounds out the kissing sound, "mmmmmmmaaaa".
It's pretty sweet.

Hannah loves the cows. She can see them from her bedroom window and every morning she runs to the window and see the cows mooing. We take frequent trips out to visit. Recently she's been scared of them and clings to me for some reason. She also loves to hear the train sound and when she hears it, she looks  up and tries to follow the sound.

She is very strong willed and we are learning now that we must be extremely consistent in our discipline. I must say that I never thought discipline would be "that" difficult. I know what we have chosen to do is very Biblical and we are on the same page but, it is still not easy. Please pray for us in this area. It is helpful that even after discipline, she always wants to hug. And we do, and I always tell her how much I love her, but she must obey!

She recognizes people now and becomes attached easily. She is attached to her Papa at the hip and anytime she is hurt, she always wants Papa. She also is very attached to her Grandparents. When we say we are going to, "Oma's house", she smiles from ear to ear...and has a hard time parting when it's time to leave. When we say we are going to call Grandma or skype she runs to the phone or computer to call. It's neat watching who she has become so attached to.

She enjoys coloring...taking the caps off the markers and back on.
She still has her blonde streak...both, one on top and one on her right side.

 Hannah you are beautiful.
We love you so much. You add so much fun to our life.
We love your sweet and tender spirit and the zest for life that you posses.
We are so thankful to God that He has placed you in our care.
We are praying for you daily and doing the best we can to train you to be a
beautiful woman after God's own heart.
You are God's most precious gift to us.

Christmas

Every other year, we meet with Daniels family for Christmas. Usually that is the time that all his siblings and spouses are together. This year we were in  Houston, Grasham Christmas. We enjoyed our time together and it was less stressful than I had thought. Usually I get very anxious with so many people and we're all so different, but I think it went very well. It also helped that the meals were more laid back, everyone did at least one meal and all worked together. It was difficult this year because Hannah is still having her constipation issues and this made for an extremely whiny, needy and cranky kid, for the majority of the weekend. Fortunately, on the last day everyone was together, she was better since she was "relieved".
Anyway, back to Christmas! Everyone came in on Thursday night or Friday. Dan's sister Jessica and her husband Grant stayed with us. We were soo looking forward to hosting them. We enjoyed our alone time with them talking. I especially enjoyed it because we don't ever have much time just us, to chat. Friday night, I hosted with Curry Soup. I was excited for everyone to come to our house since very few of Dan's family had seen it. I wish I would have taken some pictures of the table settings, they were really nice...oh well! I was preoccupied.
Saturday night was Christmas Eve and I sang in the Christmas Eve service. It was a beautiful candle-lit service. I'd never been to it before, I enjoyed it. In my family, we always attended the Christmas Eve service. So, this year, attending made me feel a bit like "home".
Follwing service, we came back to Dan's parents house and enjoyed some fresh Brotchen, German Rolls with sandwich fillings. We opened some gifts and that was Christmas with the Grasham's!
On Christmas Morning, Daniel, Hannah and I had our own Christmas morning together. It was nice. We skyped my mom in and she watched Hannah as she woke up, came down stairs, and saw and opened her gifts.Thank you to my family for sending sweet gifts for Hannah. We put them under the tree and they were opened on Christmas morning.
Tante Jessica and Hannah making cheesecake after breakfast. Hannah loves to watch and help!
When we arrived at Dan's parents house, Ally and Mia were there to greet Hannah...
Mia loves to help Hannah around.

A Postal Walk...In Pictures

I decided to follow Daniel and Hannah the other night as they went to get the mail.
Hannah was excited as it had rained...and was raining, she got to wear her boots.
Here are the pictures from their "evening postal walk".
